Comment A wet dream for planet destroyers (Score 1) 123

There's nothing tangible about crypto.

It purely exists as a mechanism for burning anything that's available for the purpose of powering the electronics of the system to validate it.

You don't need to burn some retro-chemical or harvest energy in order to continue using a gold bar, a shiny bill, or a dollar bill. It continues to exist and be able to be traded even when the power is out.

It feels like crypto explicitly exists to give room to the people that want to continue to burn everything in sight in order to make a buck.

I wonâ(TM)t be the first to say it.

In the race to block and muck all wireless transmission and detection someone built a box that spews energy across a wide spectrum⦠one that so happens to scrambles peopleâ(TM)s heads.

Trains can run without computers, computers just make it easy.

You want to bring their rail network down?

Create some simultaneous train derailments and disable or obfuscate their switching and signaling systems.

Or even better, remove some actual tracks or bring some bridge crossings out of commission.

Disabling their website is kids games.

Comment Leave podcasts alone (Score 1) 109

Spotify and their ilk trying to chase a new revenue stream from the work of others can go pound sand.

They should leave podcasts alone, and stop trying to apply their MBA-school metrics for "creating" the next big thing that will make them tons of money.

It's bad enough that Spotify will take an advertisement-free podcast and ruin it by adding advertisements to it for their free-tier subscribers.

These services are not âoelosingâ my money.

If any service I ever paid money to ever restricted the number of simultaneous streams down to one, or started putting ads in their content, THEN they would lose my money.

I donâ(TM)t give a flying fuck as to how you define a âoehouseholdâ (Iâ(TM)m looking at you Spotify), take what little of my money Iâ(TM)m willing to part with and be happy with it.

Either that, or have none of it.

Comment Standards shoved down your throats... (Score 1) 137

From having the resilience to barely able to penetrate through obstacles such as a sheet of paper (unless the paper contains moisture, which in that case forget about your signal going through any solid objects...), a range necessitating the need for a cell every few hundred feet, and drawing enough power draw to reduce your mobile time to a few hours outside: 5G is a standard that only mobile operators looking for a government handout could love.

Once operators declare 5G a national security infrastructure requirement, our wonderful tax money will be spent to cover the country with cell service.

Oh yea, if you want your cell phone coverage inside of building youâ(TM)re going to have to pay separate internet service for that.

Comment Show All Tabs... (Score 2) 189

If only there was a button in Safari you could click, and it would show you a thumbnail of all your open tabs that would be extremely helpful.

But nah, having a ton of favicons that give you no context as to the content of the page is way more useful....
