maddmike writes: Engineers at Volkswagen have developed a car that can get only use 1 litre/100km or 282mpg. The new car has Cameras and LCD screens instead of mirrors to reduce drag, a magnesium frame and a carbon fiber body. So why can't US car makers build cars that can get 50 mpg?

Submission + - McAfee's bundling deal with Blubster

McAfee claims p2p music sharing client Blubster is loaded all kinds of nasty stuff. p2pnet also links to SpyBot and The Pirate Bay, not to mention Digg, slashdot and del.icio.us. Meanwhile, Blubster creator Pablo Soto reveals McAfee was very happy with a Security Center software bundling deal it'd organised with with Blubster."

Submission + - SQL Server 2005 gets second service pack

daria42 writes: Microsoft has released a second free service pack for its SQL Server 2005 database application. The update makes SQL Server 2005 compatible with Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system and Office 2007 suite, and adds a number of data compression, manageability and interoperability enhancements. Microsoft has also changed the terms under which SQL Server 2005 can be run using virtualisation software.
