Tsar Vladimir has a couple million soldiers with automatic weapons firing 5.45x39 rounds, I think those would be more effective than marshmallows.
What they need to do is build refineries in North Dakota, where there is plenty of oil, and also natural gas to power them.
We don't want all the refining capacity of the nation to be in the Gulf where it could be all shut down by a hurricane. (stronger and more frequent due to climate change)
Do you expect a Slashdot headline to make sense?

What wakes up? Siberia? China? Or the train...

"Iapetus, Saturn's third largest moon, was first photographed by the Cassini spacecraft on 31 December 2004."
Really? First photographed in 2004? Didn't any of the earlier probes like Voyager take pictures of it?
I seem to remember something about strange light and dark patterns on that moon from a book i read many years ago.
I think it was written by a "distinguished but elderly scientist"

Just global warming, caused by everyone, including US producing more CO2 than the plants absorb for the last 160 years.
