The vast majority of business applications could be developed in just about any modern programming language. When it comes time to hire developers, then popularity is a pretty significant attribute. If you could build an application in less code with Haskell, but you would struggle to find developers who know and enjoy Haskell, then that probably isn't a good tradeoff for the company.

I don't see the appeal. I played Lost Ark for about 2 hours and then uninstalled it. The story is silly, the loading/wait times are absurd, and the combat is little more than button mashing the same rotation over and over. Although I didn't experience it myself, I've read that the game requires massive grinding. I'll go back to playing Diablo 3 before wasting any time on this game.

According to Wikipedia: "The U.S. Supreme Court has held that all executive orders from the president of the United States must be supported by the Constitution, whether from a clause granting specific power, or by Congress delegating such to the executive branch"

Do we live in a monarchy? The President can't just make up executive orders out of the blue.

Comment Chatbots are only useful for people who don't know (Score 5, Insightful) 79

I think Chatbots are only useful for people who don't know how to use a website. Basically, Chatbots are a slightly more intelligent version of a site map. They can guide a person to the page they are looking for. Which makes them completely useless to me. I already know how to use a website and how to use a site map. If I still need help, then the functionality doesn't exist on the website and a Chatbot is useless in that scenario.

Matrix Resurrections is more of a critique of the movie industry, which apparently is willing to put out one mindless sequel after another in the hope of recreating the magic of the original movie. I've read crappy fan fiction that had a better story than Resurrections.

I think the medical insurance companies are in on this scam. First of all, these kinds of astronomical bills scare people into never wanting to go without medical insurance. Second, it allows the insurance companies to apply pressure to hospitals that are not in network because they know that most people would never be able to pay these rates. The result is either to go along with the insurance companies or face debt collection and bankruptcy.

If medical bills were reasonable, then a lot fewer people would consider medical insurance to basically be required.

Wow! Talk about False Equivalence!

At least ONE MILLION Uyghurs have been arbitrarily detained in the Xinjiang internment camps since 2017. The Chinese government has subjected Uyghurs to widespread abuses that include forced sterilization and forced labor.

Please tell us what human rights issues in Canada come anywhere close to that in scope.

First, Kyle didn't arm himself before traveling to another state. He got the weapon after traveling there.
Second, Kyle wasn't "uninvited" to another state. He drove there the day before for work and stayed at his stepfather's house overnight.
Third, Kyle wasn't "uninvited" to patrol. The owners of a car dealership there asked Kyle and his friend to protect their business after they had been vandalized the night before.

They didn't all do the exact same dumb thing. Is there any evidence Rittenhouse pointed his gun and threatened someone who was just standing around? Any evidence of Rittenhouse chasing down someone with obvious intent to harm them?

They all went to the riots looking for trouble. Some of them had guns to protect themselves. I agree that is a stupid decision, but nothing illegal yet.

The difference is that some people choose to actively threaten harm to some other people who were just there.
