Still crazy that California of all places was the state to bad same sex marriages.
As to the DOMA, it was still a cop-out by the Obama administration to refuse to defend the law and require the court to overturn it. The AG's office should defend the laws on the books and allow Congress and the courts to decide on the laws.
I assume the idea here is the system is off grid for when you have a system wide failure like Sandy. Obviously Manhattan does not have any above ground wires.
Also, plenty of "towers" in Manhattan are simply antennas bolted to the top of apartment buildings wired to the buildings power with limited batteries.
Agreed. Isn't this the job of NSA, MI-6 and other spy agencies? They exist to spy on other counties, allies or not.

If people would simply put, "it is reported" in tweets instead of "it is confirmed" (when it is not), we could really cut down on a lot of misinformation.
This is nonsense.
1) Don't create something new and better because other people will want to use it?
2) We are not smart enough to make anything better ever.
3) What are you talking about?
a more interesting question, would this be enough for widespread adoption of the newest 4k video standard?
