Solaris 8. Hell, go all out with the retro vibe and toss on iPlanet and run a web site full of animated GIFs.

In all seriousness, we run several SunFire V480s and V1280s at work. They do, in fact, have Solaris 8 iPlanet installed and we use them to run a web app and some data processing software we built in house. We're ditching them in favor of T4s pretty soon, but they've treated us pretty damned well for about 10 years.

In the last 10 years I've lived in NC, FL, TX and VA and seen none of this. I think I may have seen a dedicated bagger in a Safeway in Monterey CA about 12 years ago, but in all those other places, nada. Most of the time, it's been the cashier doing both jobs.

There are provisions for independent observers. The US signed the treaty with these guys, so they have to invite the observers. Local law doesn't matter, as the federal government signed the treaty.

I see no evidence to indicate that the U.S. ratified a treaty with these guys. The POTUS may have signed some non-binding stuff, but it's just that.

Furthermore, the Constitution designates the States as the stewards of the electoral process. The Federal government has no say in this, even if they did sign a treaty.

For that many people, we're talking more money than he, Gates, and four other random billionaires combined have.

If you're referring to the "hundreds of thousands" here, I think you misread the summary. As far as I could tell, TFA didn't say how many people he was planning to put on Mars. He's saying he'll finance the Mars colony with the fares he gets from his space tourism business. He's expects hundreds of thousands will pay Virgin Galactic.

Ad hominem much? You know, it really takes away from the power of your argument... So do typos/grammos.

No. What he said is pretty much true. Mac OS-X uses a heavily modified BSD kernel. It is 100% not Linux. Also, I don't see anything wrong with suggesting somebody check their facts before posting. Saying something is ad hominem doesn't make it so.

Attempting to discredit somebody's point by criticizing their grammatical and spelling errors is, however, ad hominem.
