Comment Not really sure.... (Score 1) 254

I usually plug in my phone for charging whenever it's practical to do so. That way I always have a full charge. A habit I have from driving an electric car; no need to worry about how long it takes to charge it from 0% capacity. :-)

Comment I have plenty MAC addresses (Score 1) 374

Garage:
Arduino+ethernet shield door opener
Office computer
A couple of servers
0-3 computers being worked on at any time.

House:
Main computer
XBox
Wii
Media-center
NAS
3 Laptops
5 WiFi-enabled mobile phones
iPod

Not counting whatever gizmos I might have enabled and forgotten about, and of course there are some Access points. (2 in the house, 1 in the garage). Also, friends and family that are visiting obviously get free WiFi when they are here. So yes, I have plenty of MAC addresses around on my property.

What? Are you saying that your contry doesn't already have these things in order? In Norway, anyone selling electronics (phones, TVs, refridgeratores, whateverhasachipinit) are obliged to take in old electronics with no charge to the user. (Anyone buying new items are charged a small fee to finance the recycling, but you can turn in as many old items you like at no cost, and without buying anything.) The items are then sent for safe recycling.

Didn't school teach you to read the entire task before starting? A simple "test" was administered to learn us the lesson:

You have fifteen minutes to complete this test. It should be plenty of time:

#1: Read the ENTIRE list before doing ANYTHING
#2: Solve the equation 3(2x +4)=36
#3: Name five large mammals ...
Lots of other odd questions, equations etc. ...
#50: Now that you have read the entire list you can ignore steps 2-49. Sit back, relax, and watch your fellow students that failed to understand #1 struggle to finish the test in time.

Needless to say, most of us failed this test, but we still learned a valuable lesson. c",)

Comment The beauty of consoles (Score 1) 271

Being able to save the world, princes or hostages, beating the living daylight out of my friends character or sniping them from far away, or skidding through the turns with 6000+ RPM, all without moving anything but my thumbs and index fingers is the real beauty of the consoles.

Screw having to know about the position of the 100+ keys on the keyboards and waiving the mouse. Screw the camera requiring me to turn up the light so it can see my hand-gestures. and screw the wii-type controllers flying through the air unless they are secured to my wrists.

If I want to break a sweat I go outside to work in the garden or do something on the house, I go skiing in the real world or play sports for real.

The sofa is comfortable for a reason, and it's not so you can get a workout while sitting on your ass.
