OK, so how about, instead of regulating Uber as the commercial transport service it is, we deregulate commercial transport services so they can be on a level playing field? You know, no more government mandated licensing and insurance, no special recourse for customers who are cheated\robbed\otherwise harmed by a driver, etc.

Or is that a phenomenally stupid idea for some glaringly obvious reasons?

The muslim angle is just a distraction. The real problem is that when the girls or people around them did complain the police did nothing.

Really it's not. They(police, social services, etc.,) didn't do anything for fear of being labeled racists.

Doesn't seem to slow down US cops and social workers...

The difference is that the former directly puts people in harm's way, whereas the latter are just words being spoken publicly. For example, Eminent sticking a gun to his ex-wife's head and screaming "Imma kill dis bitch!" would be felony assault, but him saying he would do that to a killer rap beat is a multi-platinum record.

Not sure where the confusion is coming from.

I was going to argue that the difference is ant colonies, when exposed to certain chemical signatures, launch into a frenzy they can't control - this is why those Terro traps are so effective.

Then I remembered... all the Black Friday signs going up this week... perhaps not the best argument after all.
