Speaking of prices, who pays the price when some untrained Uber taxi driver crashes during the emergency condition, causing emergency services to have to divert resources from where they are needed to handle the greedy idiot who crashed his car? Price gouging, especially during an emergency situation, is illegal in many places. So basically what Uber is doing here is making themselves legally liable to return every red cent they collect over the normal rate during the snowstorm, not to mention inviting punitive damages.
Always try to do things in chronological order; it's less confusing that way.
