Submission + - Low support for Australian Internet Filtering (whirlpool.net.au)

ThinkOfaNumber writes: Results from Whirlpool's 2009 Australian Broadband Survey are in with (not-so?) surprising results about the Australian Federal Government's mandatory internet filtering. Only 7.4% of over 23,000 validated unique surveys supported the idea. Of course, Whirlpool is a large forum with many IT-savvy readers, and the survey doesn't represent a broad selection of Australians, but they state this bias and the results are interesting nonetheless.

Actually I killed the last 'boss' in Mass Effect 2 6 days before the official US release... And they do add DRM not for the pirates but for the paying customers so they can't give the game to their friends. And those friends have to buy it themselves - at least that the sick idea in game the industries controlling body heads I guess. The thing they ignore is that at least I myself would have bough lot more games if there were no DRM, and now after i hear about all the problems with the game protections I don't even consider buying it. I just go and find the pirated version with the MAIN idea that I'll have LESS problems with it ...

Here (in Bulgaria, Sofia) the only thing You have to do is to send an SMS with your car's registration number. And that is for one hour. If You see that one hour won't be enough then send another sms. I have template with my car's number so I press 2-3 buttons and voila parking is paid. The bill is included in your cell's one.

Mod the parent up ! Absolutely agree with him to the last word :). I tried VLC but it's keyboard control is not even close to that of MPlayer, and it crashes a lot more on windows and FreeBSD. MPlayer's man page is actually useful compared to VLC's almost empty one. And one more minus for VLC is it's QT interface, because I'm using gnome and hate to wait for QT to compile especially if only one application is using it. On the bright side it's probably the only usable video streamer around :).
