Why did they remove Other OS? Because:
a) IBM was pissed about US Defence buying PS3's instead of its servers
b) OtherOS was the main reason console was hacked into oblivion (which, one could argue, also degrades legit user experience due to cheaters, console becoming less attractive to the developers etc)

Compare that to competitor's actions and reasons behind them. The reason that you'd need XBox Live Gold to USE A FREAKING BROWSER or watch youtube movies.
Sony's competitor tried to fruck us, the customers in a number of ways, only part of that was reversed (thanks to Sony not following the suit and customers canceling pre-orders)

You also get "bluetooth extender" for your controller.

Besides dualshock is a better controller, with Vita they had to make compromises (big screen in the middle, should fit in a pocket etc)

If all you want is off TV play, Sony PSP could do it for ages.

You can also hook a controller to it, and it would transmit your commands to your main console over the network.
A bunch of my (kidless :)) fellows bought second consoles simply to be able to also play in the bedroom.

I don't see OtherOS removal as a problem, sorry, call me selfish, but I'm way more concerned about attempt by its competitor, to enforce digital only games.

There was hardly anyone who was affected by this. Those who bought device for Other OS didn't need to upgrade the firmware, those who bought it for games, couldn't care less about Other OS.

Kerry has openly talked (in London) about Assad's giving up chemical weapons would stop the attack.

But I doubt it is a coincidence that whenever there is a conflict with some 30 year old regime, Mr Putin is always on the dictators side.

Russia also brokered deal with Miloshevich, when NATO was bombing the hell out of that country, which was again, technically aggression of NATO block vs independent country, Serbia. (there were again no UN sanctions)

Hardly a win.

US had 2 suggestions:

1) what Syria agreed to (initially Russians refused saying "it's Syria's right to have them"
2) To act together and guard these weapons in case of a bigger mess later

IS a big deal and could later be applied to other countries, e.g. Iran.

You didn't need a visionary to combine PDA and a phone.
Gestures with pitch to zoom etc were there even back in mid 90th, on (at that time) very expensive prototypes.
Once right tech was there, pda-phones or smartphones if you want, were inevitable.

And once everyone did that, Apple is oh so far behind. (still that PDA icon grid thing and no widgets, give me a break)
It still sells well because it is a fashion device, but that's it.

iWatch will probably be as popular as apple TV.

Considering it is now legal to prohibit class actions in EULAs, it won't take long to put that into most job contracts. At least for Apple.
