Obama Wants Allies To Go After WikiLeaks 1088

krou writes "Coming on the back of human rights groups criticizing WikiLeaks, American officials are saying that the Obama administration is pressuring allies such as Australia, Britain, and Germany to open criminal investigations against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and to try limit his ability to travel. 'It's not just our troops that are put in jeopardy by this leaking. It's UK troops, it's German troops, it's Australian troops — all of the NATO troops and foreign forces working together in Afghanistan,' said one American diplomatic official, who added that other governments should 'review whether the actions of WikiLeaks could constitute crimes under their own national-security laws.'"

Inmates Escape As Guard Plays Plants Vs. Zombies 87

dotarray writes "Everybody knows that there's a certain risk one takes when playing addictive, engrossing games can be trouble when you're meant to be doing something else. The prevalence of awesome games on the iPhone hasn't helped that risk. A Plants Vs. Zombies loving police officer has learned this the hard way after an escape."

Similar to kids in Europe they grow up with less restrictions on alcohol and it doesn't seem to be an epidemic of kids drinking over there in excess. This newer generation can be less obsessive about how everything works and be on it all the time.

Wait you don't think they have a camera pointed exactly at this scanner with a timecode sync. It's trivial to rewind a set of video and find out exactly who you are. Don't think for a second they do not know who is who. Maybe not the drones manning the station but the analyst will definitely have a clue. Now think of a celebrity passing through one of these. All one of the drones needs to know is the time the celebrity crossed the scanner (Yes most use private charters but there is the occasional public figure (Kevin Smith anyone?))

Israel. Airport security in the U.S. is a joke compared to what they have going on there. Remember when they were confiscating whatever the new apple product was. There security is armed to the teeth. I understand they are trying to keep their country safe and am not making a judgment; just pointing out that the U.S. isn't the only one detaining people at airports for questioning.

On another note.. would you let some one you know hacking your companies website go ahead and sit in the break room with administrative assistants without at least talking to him? The U.S.Government is trying to protect security and information leaks. This was an opportunity to grab for some low hanging fruit, hoping they would get lucky.

What about follow spots? The tech or stage manager is probably calling cues to the follow spot operators. Sure you can get a vari-lite to hit a couple of static spots but the tech is there for when things go wrong like someone is sick backstage they are going to do the next bit with out him, patch out or don't spot this part of the performance.

There are some people who enjoy going to the same live show multiple times. They relish in what is the same as well as what is different in each performance. A synth is not even close to a live performer. A recording gets mundane to those who go to multiple showings. It is similar to the difference of using a code generator and point and click interface for a novice compared to getting in there yourself and seeing what the real code is and writing it yourself.

I use to think teaching any religion for H.S. and College was a bad idea. Then I took an intro to religions course as a core requirement. It will open a person's eyes up to different perspectives and has allowed me to open up new opportunities and better insight in business and personal relationships.

Do I have to believe what they believe? No. But understanding where their values and beliefs are compared to mine has been a valuable guiding compass.

A common complaint brought up in religion classes is that it leads to so much war.. Which definitely is true..however if everyone understands other religions then you take that tool of people's ignorance away from tyrants who would use religion as a device to initiate war.
