Comment Some dipshit on my street points one at people (Score 1) 687

There's a dipshit living in an apartment building on my street that points a laser at people out walking at night. Not sure if it's a kid or adult 'cause I'm not turning around to look when I see the little dot dancing across the sidewalk in front of me and my dog. And I keep my head down when I have to walk towards the building not knowing if the jackass is shining it at people that night or not.

By abandon do you mean rolling out an all electric RAV4?

Sure, they're dropping one line of car, their little eQ minicar. But that doesn't mean they are dropping electric all together. They've just realized that the technology isn't there quite there yet. And they are planning on having 21 hybrid versions of their vehicles by 2015.

In other words they moved too fast on the all electric cars for some markets and are backing off for now until the technology catches up with the ideas.

I would go farther and say that the author is not necessarily the end authority on their own work.

If they took Roth as a primary source and allowed his words to be stated as unreferenced facts, they would need to take Whitley Strieber as a primary source when he says he was actually kidnapped by aliens.

Roth was refuting claims made by reviewers of his book that Wikipedia was quoting. Reviewers that wrote reviews that were nothing more than their own opinion's on Roth's works. What secondary sources of the reviews did Wikipedia have? None. Just the reviews themselves. So Wikipedia took the reviewers at their own words on the motivation behind the book (no facts just their own written reviews) but would not accept the author's? That's completely asinine.

As for Strieber if he believes he was abducted by aliens and this was the motivation for his books, who the hell is Wikipedia to say any different? That if anything points to exactly what is wrong with Wikipedia. They have their own agenda. Their own twist on things. Truth be damned.

If you said you didn't like it, I could accept that. But not so much as seen it? Where does one live to avoid all contact whatsoever with maple syrup?

cheesybagel obviously lives in another dimension.

Guaranteed supply. Really? So who is going to guarantee the supply? The fuelbank will have to buy their uranium from somewhere and what if the country supplying the uranium decides to stop selling it? Or ups the price? Unless the fuelbank has it's own inexhaustible supply of uranium it cannot guarantee anything.

Yes but you have to look at it from the point of view of the cabin crew. They can't take the time to evaluate every single piece of electronic equipment passengers want to use during the flight to make sure that none of them are transmitting. God, look how long it takes everyone just to stow their bags and sit their asses down in their seats. Now imagine the cabin crew having to check everyone's devices individually as well. The plane would never take off. So its easier to use the blanket statement of "No electronic devices during take off and landing". Honestly, is it really that fucking hard to not fiddle with your gps, or phone, or kindle, or tablet, or ipad, or whatever for a few minutes? Read the damn sky mall magazine for fuck's sake.
