Yea, but be realistic here:
How many PCs are running "Windows" (or some form of it) compared to the reported "500 Kin" sold by Microsoft?
... my air conditioning unit A) connected to any communications network and B) to be charged for such connection.
Give me a fricken break!
>
The only appropriate and correct response to that is "Yes".
Another fine example of Microsoft "Technology Evangelist" dollars at work.
It is more and more apparent, that President Obama and his Administration, with his "Hope and Change" machinations are really "More of the Same, and Much Much Worse!" (TM)
With a little bit more of an expanded view, however, it is really Democrats and Republicans that are "More of the Same, and Much Much Worse!"
Both of the two major parties need a severe wake-up call, namely, less and less of them should be voted into office to the point where it starts messing with their power base, campaign financing and the like. That's really the only thing that will get their attention and start governing "...for the people..." and not "... for the multi-national corporations that give me nice fat campaign donation checks".
-- lemme see. If this was past, "other party" administration(s), what would your response have been to such musings?
What's that? Oh, you would have voiced something along the lines of "Bush and his administration are abusing their authority *and* proposing things that are un-constitutional. He and Cheney should be prosecuted!" Or something to that effect.
As I have said before, we are just getting more of the same (some much for "Hope and Change" huh?) and much, much worse.
Or, a message that prints on the OLED screen that says:
"Due to demands on the power grid, I will not be able to dry your clothes for another 9.37 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience. The Smart Grid."
Or...
"The power grid load is high now, therefore, I will not be able to play the 'Beatles Anthology: CD1' right now. Sorry for the inconvenience. The Smart Grid."
Ad infinitum.
In all my math classes in high school, 1975-1980, you could use calculators in class. However, on tests, you *had* to show your work or you were not given credit for a correct answer. Oh, and you couldn't use them during tests anyway. As a result, other than one individual, the rest of us never brought or used calculators in class because when it came to test time, we were all practiced on showing our work.
What if scenario:
What if the homework assignments are *required* to be turned in only in the form that can be utilized/read/handled by the school's computers?
What happens then?
One answer: All sorts of lawyer induced warfare begins and, when the dust settles, nobody wins.
And ear marks to pay for adding turtle crossings to roads in Badlands, South Dakota.
Why isn't the EPA all over this? It could be contribution to global warming, for crying out loud!
|| makes my brain want to liquefy and seep out my ears. ||
Hey! Don't knock it till you've tried it!
|| The people closest to this are the Libertarians, but they're so wacky they think that all roads should become private property and made into toll roads, so you have to pay tolls just to drive out of your driveway. ||
Nice pigeon hole you got there!
Not even "most" Libertarians I know (and, I am one) think that.
I do not want tax payer money being given to any news-weasels to "save" or otherwise "preserve" the current news businesses.
They swim or sink like the rest of us, screw them!
A computer scientist is someone who fixes things that aren't broken.
