Submission + - Adobe is lying about Credit Cards being encrypted in the latest hack (cnet.com)

jobst writes: I am not sure whether this qualifies as a story — it might just be a follow up.
However I have just scanned the Internet for "Adobe hacked" to find similar stories of what I had experienced (see below). I was surprised to see that I was not the only one who's credit card was debited at the end of August as well as being unable to reset my password, many people have the same happen to them — so Adobe is lying about Credit cards being encrypted.

At the beginning of August I purchased the latest version of Adobe Premier using a Credit card as this is the ONLY way you can do this — monthly payments require a credit card. Since this is a company purchase I used the company card, this card had never been used before for Internet transactions. I have a special card for this but because this is a monthly purchase I did not want to transfer money every month into the "special" credit card.
On the 20.08.2013 the credit card was debited by a person called "NOVAPOKEREW" through a PAYPAL account. I rang paypal and after a lengthy conversation (on and off for 3 hours) and being handed from person to person they acknowledged this was fraudulent and have no problem giving the money back to me (thank you PAYPAL at least you had someone I could speak to on the phone).
What gives me the shits is that Adobe is lying because I have seen many people saying their credit card has been debited somewhere at the end of August — Adobe you are lying!!!!
To add insult to injury when you try to reset your password you end up in an endless loop of resetting your password again and again — this too has been the experience of MANY other people (just search for Adobe Hacked and start reading). I tried to ring but I could only use "chat" for Adobe customer support and the people had trouble to get it reset — no phone support on the weekend.
While I like your products ADOBE, you suck at security and customer service as well giving the incorrect information about an event.
This is not about being hacked, it can happen to anyone — but leaving your customers in the dark — well if there would be another product like Indesign or Premier — I would NOT be using Adobe anymore, that's for sure.

While I understand where you are coming from ... one of our people @ work bought a Sony with an I7, SSD and touch - I actually replaced my Linux laptop and got myself a Dell XPS12 (i7,ssd,8gb ram) - it is fast (boot time 10s or so), the touch screen really works and getting a couple of add-ons (e.g. classic start menu and putty) makes Windows 8 useable - and looking up "things (i.e. google, mail, addresses etc)" on the computer from off to reading the info is a delight - so there is something worthwhile upgrading for.

Who paid for the survey - a plastic bag manufacturer? I have been using cloth based bags for many years - sometimes they do not get washed for weeks/months ... When I go bread shopping at the bakery the bread goes in there without other bags - then at the green grocer we put the stuff straight into as well. No one in our family has been ill for many, many years.

Brace alright ... the onslaught of costs to defend your systems, viruses/troyans/malware interrupting work-flow, costs of looking after people cause they cant connect although you have given them a fool proof set of instructions, stealing of IP ... you name it its all there for the taking.
I have a wifi, but that sits in front of the firewall (as in the internet site) so they can connect there laptops but they need to use the VPN and the phones can use it too.
