Assange is accused of conspiring and assisteding in the the crimes of Manning.
Conspiracy to commit another crime is its own crime in the US
Anybody who commits it is subject to the US laws regardless of their citizenship or residence.

Extradition laws usually require that the underlying action be illegal in the host country as well as the requesting country.
So the red herring examples of SA or China are irrelevant.

Office buildings are not windowless. They have more window coverage than residential buildings.
They are also "thicker" meaning the inside is much farther from the walls and windows.
Not a problem for open / cubicle office space.
A problem with residential where you have full height inside walls blocking the middle from the windows.

While you are not stating it, from the tone of your post you assume or imply that US exiting Afghanistan and Russia escalating their invasion and occupation of Ukraine are unrelated coincidences.
They are not.

Russia was sitting pretty when Trump was the president.
One day he bombed Syrian airfields right under Russia's noses.
Another day he bombed that Iranian General.
Trump was the first US president who approved supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine.
So Russia expected strong pushback.

Biden OTOH appeared and was weak. The Afghan pullback was proof.
Russia did not expect Biden to interfere.
And he didn't. For weeks. Until the miracles that Ukraine was showing on the battlefields were impossible to ignore anymore.
And even then, reluctantly.

So no, Biden is a bad president.
