Intellimouse Optical is still pretty awesome, IMO. I got very used to using it for gaming way back in the day, the left and right side buttons were very easy to actuate without moving my fingers. Nearly everything now uses much smaller buttons usually on one side, and they require moving my thumb to actuate, which sucks. The Intellimouse Optical 1.1a in black can still be had on Amazon for $50, the regular beige is like $80.

Notepad and Notepad++ don't do fonts, bold, italics, underlines, bullets, or any of the other things WordPad does. Word is complete overkill for the majority of users. WordPad was a perfect fit for a cut above basic text.

But then they can't require an app that requires access to various data to work, and charge those extra fess at the same time!

Seriously though, I agree. Just put decent sized touch screens with a simple and intuitive UI at each table with the complete menu on it, and provide all the same customizations that would be available if you ordered via wait staff.

• Stop using user antagonistic login pages. Splitting up the username/password fields between pages or only revealing the password field after entering a username and clicking a button is stupid, and fucks with password managers. It doesn't help with security at all, it just makes it more of a PITA for real users.
• Sanitize inputs and allow all UTF-8 characters.
• Remove upper limits on password length
• Stop it with the stupid "security pictures/images/etc."
• Stop using canned "security questions" because they all ask for info that can be easily gleaned from the Internet

Frankly, banks are some of the worst offenders when it comes to shitty password policy. Stupid things like "minimum of 8, maximum of 15 characters, only letters, numbers, and this limited list of special characters, and no spaces." Embarrassing really.
