Comment Re:How about this one simple rule (Score 1) 177

The problem is, who gets to determine something is a lie. For example, if one candidate says, "My opponent doesn't care about the poor!" Is that a lie? Perhaps in the strictest sense. But the implication here is that one candidate feels that the actions of their opponent demonstrates that their opponent doesn't care about the poor. The reality is likely that the opposing candidate cares about the poor, but supports policy that their opponent doesn't. But should we stop the first candidate from saying such things?

If we do stop candidates from stating things that are opinionated but could be argued as being "lies", we can start stating that ANYTHING that the opposing candidate disagrees with is a lie. For example: "Program X is the best way to raise test scores!" - ThoughtPolice has determine that was a lie only "Program Y" is acceptable for raising test scores.

I'd rather not have people trying to tell me what opinions are true or false. I'm a grown up, I can figure it out.

Yeah, it was pretty painful waiting for Fiber. The deadline kept getting pushed. Eventually they did it and its awesome. I just wish all of KC could get it.

Here's the thing that baffles me though. WHY DO THEY KEEP ADVERTISING IT!? Seriously. I see ads on facebook and on billboards begging for people to sign up for Google Fiber when they can't.

I frequent the local drive-in all the time. First, if you're staying in your car, you're doing it wrong. I typically picnic right outside my car. Second, there are many reasons to want to go to a drive-in.

1.) You can freely bring in your own food.
2.) Kids are typically free.
3.) You can bring kids without worrying about them ruining the movie for everyone else.
4.) Two current movies for just $10 per person? Count me in!

That being said there are obvious disadvantages such as:

1.) Inevitably the guy parked two cars down will decide to smoke.
2.) Bugs
3.) Awful bathrooms
4.) Potential for rain
5.) Average screen quality
6.) Below average sound quality (Hint! Bring your own speaker!)
7.) Always late at night

So basically this is a lengthy way of saying, if you have kids or are low on cash and you want to see a current movie, go to the drive-in.
