Your directory structure is just another form of tagging.
If you are on OSX and the files are properly tagged, I'm fairly certain there is a finder view that would even present it in such a way that it looked like a directory tree.
Nothing wrong with using directories for organization- but you've not provided a reason why this is different/better than tagging files with Metadata in other ways

I don't want a tablet mac. I don't want to run mac apps on my tiny screen or phone apps on my desktop.
I want my phone to be able to switch to desktop mode with full mac os if I I plug in a usb-c monitor/keyboard/mouse.
A current Samsung Galaxy or iPhone already has more CPU power than my work provided macbook due to its age. I don't need more CPU. My phone only has 16gb of ram, but that would be fine in a pinch. My phone sucks for onboard storage, but that's cause WTF needs a TB on their phone which isn't a desktop.
Samsung Dex was an awesome concept. You could infact run IntelliJ on your phone and it was usable! Not something your going to want to build Linux kernels on all day, but definitely usable. Whatever it is now us pretty lame because they abandoned the most critical features and now it's just your phone/android on a desktop monitor/kb/mouse

If you think cyclists don't regularly flaunt traffic laws you don't drive a car. Passing on the right at a stop sign to get to the front of the line, only then to get in front of cars in traffic and slowing them down. Trading a turning lane as their own skip to front of the line. Ignoring signs and lights because it takes 'stopping and starting is hard'. It's not all cyclist, but every sane cyclist I know will be happy to tell you of the idiots they've rode with doing stupid illegal stuff.
When the driver of a car fucks up and makes a mistake, they have a metal cage around them designed to absorb impact. Your bike dents the car.

Our VPN software ( just Cisco AnyConnwct ) completely takes over the routing table and blocks all traffic not on the VPN except traffic going to the VPN end point.

Replacement electronics aren't really that hard to find. Even modern recent cars have aftermarket parts that can be used.
You don't see any 10 year old cars rebuilt because they are barely out of warranty and are still running fine. The technology is vastly superior in that respect to what it was in the decades you mention.
Between my wife and I we've owned 4 cars from new to at least 20 years old, and a fifth that we sold around 15 years old cause newborn babies and 2 seat convertibles don't really mix, but beyond the water pump it was all original.
