You are entitled to your opinion, as am I. However, as for the "big picture," what I'm seeing is Tyson hamstering to appease an irrational reaction to his comments. I don't believe that was the correct choice. It's a shame we disagree, but please stop the personal attacks. It's shameful, and unmanly.

When have I ever said I wanted him to be a loser? I think he has done a fantastic job at bringing science to the mainstream. It's sad that you fail to recognize the difference between explaining a topic to a person, and hamstering your way out of a statement. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that.

Very true, but you are missing the point. If I make the statement: "I feel like McRibs are the best damn thing ever" I am entitled to do that. If you, as a vegan, flip out over my choice of words, that's fine too. You can be offended all you want, but I am not obligated to care. Tyson shouldn't clarify his statements to appease people who are offended, because it's implying that he "may" be wrong. It's hamstering, and that's not what men do.

When you feel the need to "explain" something to the masses, you've lost. Tyson essentially gave in to criticism. I'm disappointed in him for doing that.

To be perfectly honest, does anyone have statistics (recent) on the number of terrorist acts that are committed by Christians? I'd like to compare them with Islamic terrorist acts, because it seems to me that Islamic apologists need a wake-up call.

Amen! We are in the same boat. It's gone beyond frustrating to sadly humorous.

It's a big problem in my company. The number of people in my department that can successfully troubleshoot an issue to resolution, understand the root cause, and prevent it from happening again is shrinking. They do have skills, but not true understanding of how/why things work or don't work. It's tremendously frustrating, and it's a trend that's not going away. I don't believe it's just an issue with the education system though. I can't remember the last time I was in a meeting or review where upper management tries some kind of "outside-the-box" techniques.
