Comment Discount for using vendor equipment (Score 1) 34

Unfortunately I am forced to use Comcast as it is the only provider where I live (except for satellite and cell). They offer a discount for using their equipment. Digging into the why is that it would provide an access point for other Comcast customers to connect and use. I think it is worth it to not take the discount and not user their equipment.

YouTube is not to blame for people believing that the world is flat. There are many posts that argue both sides, so if a person watched and listened to both sides of the argument, then they could formulate their own opinion. The problem is that people tend to sway to things they already believe in, and support their ideology, so they are typically getting only one side of the argument; thus, it reinforces what they already want to believe. YouTube is to blame for this, like a spoon is to blame for making me fat.

Comment Satellite too will suffer (Score 1) 92

Both cable and satellite companies are forced to bundle by the network providers. I can't get just TruTV, I have to purchase every Turner network channel to include CNN, TBS, Cartoon Network, and the ton of other channels. Because of this, we are force to pay high costs to obtain a single channel from the network. I ditched my satellite provider almost a year ago and have been using a plethora of free providers and a couple paid providers (Hulu and Amazon Prime). There are a few things I miss, but it isn't worth the $120 I was shelling out a month. If cable and satellite are to survive, the networks have to move to ala carte TV.
