Comment Re:It's urgent ot move to Wayland (Score 1) 71

There's not even a question. Plasma - you can configure it to look like Xfce. I was long time Xfce user, I had issues with tearing and VRR on multiple monitors. So best alternative was to switch to Wayland+Plasma.

I still use Thunar though.

For sharing, there are Plasma addons that allow creating shares from context menus.

I was the same until about ~10 years ago. The only difference? Once you go mechanical, you can never go back.

It's like driving old Fiat to work every day for past 20 years... and you're not missing anything - it takes you from point A to point B. Then you replace it with Mercedes and it still takes you from point A to point B. But you'll never want to drive a Fiat anymore.

Comment I liked Windows Mobile (Score 2) 13

UI is very similar to Mobile windows. I liked it and it's not the reason Windows phones failed. There was some lack of apps, but we could live with it (I honestly still don't use them).
The real problem why I abandoned it are the bugs. Goddamn awful bugs. Imagine getting a call and sometimes (1 in 20 calls) screen would just stay black and phone was totally unresponsive for 10-15 seconds.
And whole OS was littered with stuff that just didn't work.

This was also described by ex-MS employee. They had a tight schedule for implementing new features and adding apps and they had to focus on that instead of fixing bugs.

Comment Re:Windows 2000 and 7 were the biggest improvement (Score 1) 184

Worst is Windows 10 (and 11) it's single most shitty and bloated OS. Win ME - sure it sucked, but no one forced you to upgrade from win98 to ME. There was absolutely no nagging if you stayed on Win98SE also there were no ME exclusive features like they are now with Win10 (DirectX 12 for example - which is unavailable for Win7)
