It would be a fun topical comment but alas even Lotus was too terrible for IBM who sold it off to HCL years ago.

They have so get a clue. This isn't the right being punished bullshit, it's a limit on protest that balances the unlimited right to obstruct legal society / commerce against the unlimited right to do whatever I like.
Left wing protestors like environmentalists get arrested for stepping outside of the law all the time. I had a friend that blocked the oil pipeline access. They knew they were breaking the law and they were prepared to go to jail for their convictions. The same should go for any movement. If you feel your protests is worth going to jail over then by all means do it, but don't be surprised when the police enforce the law.
It's like weighing in on the drug wars. If I'm not doing drugs, why should I care about others doing drugs. The answer is the same in that they do affect you, just with more than one indirection.
I have no idea why you blame socialism. If it really was really a socialistic move, the government would've demanded equity if not outright company buyouts to nationalize the enterprise. This is just corporate welfare, which seems more in line with capitalist malfeasance.
Blah blah blah. So much talk for so much nothing. I may have to be done with Slashdot for a while. Just too much of this non-news pollution.
There machines exchange "foreign" assets into local tender which is the very heart of anti-money laundering laws. You may not like nanny having control over who when why how you send money to others, but it's a key linchpin of reducing the liquidity of corruption, and the proceeds of crime.
This isn't even worth the post. This is literally a waste of time for anyone wasting their time to read this (and doubly so for me who felt the need to post this pedantically).
Heh, just be required to disclose an audit log if all uses of all personal/private data entered by the individual and all entities that have accessed it. I can I put imagine that the pandemonium would follow (for FB). For twitter, I don't find many people use it besides a public forum to begin with, so it'd probably live on just fine. I actually don't mind twitter as much in that you can take your data and leave with relative ease if desired. You can hate the speakers at speakers corner, but it's hard to blame the park its situated on. As long as the platform remains neutral enough (a nearly impossible task), then I say go for it.
I'm hoping that clickhouse development and support keeps on churning. That DB is great!
Was $150million. I'm sure he's not complaining, but he was compensated up the nose for his flagrant abuse of staff and the lucky bump of having the incentive scheme vest the year of "COVID stimulus" where most/all game devs saw record profits.
Discovery is fine, certainly a lot more ethnic and female representation if that's your bar of a "bad show", but if you don't like the plot, just wait a season and it'll be entirely different. They're certainly the most distinct star trek in terms of exploring new stories, which was welcome for me coming from largely stale stories from the more recent shows. This from someone who found the Abrams movies super generic action movies in space
Although probably not as girthy as our southern neighbours, Canada is getting pretty big in general as well. I thought I read that the UK is more overweight than the US now, and their death rates are also lower. Maybe a contribution, but not a silver bullet
What a lovely country you live in. You paint its merits like nobody else. Ahh
Did Occupy NY block commerce? Honk horns consistently in residential neighbourhoods? They may have had an effect, but I think you'll find far less directly obstructive as the original truck convoy occupation. I looks to be moving somewhat toward a central point of contention in front of parliament now with less horns honking, which is certainly an improvement. Maybe they'll get a pass to protest obstructively as long as people can go back to living their lives largely unaffected.
They are a small minority. Your food and goods continue to be delivered and life goes on. Maybe less do if you're living in occupied area mind you.
