...why none of those big trucks, buses, etc go for a series hybrid (there are some being used, but not enough). Big equipment uses it (check the link). Seems simpler that the current hybrid/electric cars. I think that would be great on big trucks. Have a smallish diesel engine with a generator that powers/charges battery/drivetrain when needed.

I agree there tons of natural phenomena/lens artifacts, reported as UFOs. What about the Navy one where they use the tracking computer on their fighter to actually track the object? I doubt ship electronics would track natural phenomena/lens artifacts. There was something there to be tracked. What was it? I have no idea but it was there.

Yeah, that's right. Sony should be able to abuse consumers as much as they like because video games aren't mandatory...

Charging (or overcharging in this case) for services is abuse? It is not. You charge what the people are willing to pay. If they can't pay for something then they go somewhere where it is cheaper.

I'm not a fan of consoles for this (and other) reasons but ultimately I cant abide a company abusing a dominant position to stifle competition and rip off consumers... even if those users volunteered for it. If we allow Sony to get away with abusing their market position, where does it stop

Sony get a 30% of games from the store, Microsoft (12%), Steam(30%), Epic (12%), Nintendo(30%), Google(15%, 30% if you sell over 1M) , Apple (27%-30%). That percent is the average so Sony is not really overcharging, that percent is the norm. Also are you so naive that you think games will be cheaper if the percent commission is less? Lets check the upcoming Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 (2022) prices - XBOX=69.99, PS=69.99 , Steam=69.99. Even though Microsoft gets a 12% commission the price is not lower?? How can that be?? I'm shocked!! Publishers will sell the game at the same price everywhere.

(I'll save you from having to answer that... it'll stop when it gets to something that affects you).

Let me correct you, it'll stop when it gets to something that affects my survival. Again nobody needs videogames, it's not a right.

Because cable/telephone companies in the US don't need anything right now.
Liberty Communications just bought the AT&T Wireless rights (AT&T is leaving PR), and the FCC forced them to sell some stuff. This may be one of those "We are not a monopoly!! We are going to fix things now!!" arrangements they always do. You know like when Charter had agreed to bring its broadband network to 145,000 unserved or underserved homes in New York as a condition of its acquisition of Time Warner Cable and then did nothing.

I doubt they will do anything. I would kill for fiber to my home, but right now there is only one company delivering 1GB in a few small areas.

A long time ago there was work in a display server I think its name was Berlin something (consortium/collective)? It had everything X11 had. I been looking for information on it but cant seem to find anything about it now. I think I remember the name correctly. Seeing this post I'm now curios about it. I remember it worked on primitives instead of pixels. Is there anyone that remembers it?

All we're asking for is to keep our identity and have the right to vote. How can other Americans deny us these basic rights?

Wrong, and this is an infuriatingly dumb sleight of hand you're trying. You're asking for Independent Statehood as a city-state. No other tiny region has that kind of autonomy within the United States except distant islands that are 100's or 1000's of miles away from anything else. Even RI, which is grandfathered in as a State, is 10x larger.

If the people living in DC neighborhoods want to be citizens of a State, you can be merged with MD and get that status tomorrow. But we don't do city-states in this country and you're not going to be the first just because you dislike how the Senate is constructed.

Yeah RI is much bigger than DC how a tiny place like DC with only 700K residents bitch about not being represented. RI has a 1M residents they have that right. Meanwhile, the 3M US residents in PR can't even vote for president.
