What whitelist?
The only problem with self-hosting a SMTP-server is you often get blocked because your server's IP-address is being blacklisted because it's a residential customer's IP address. I have solved this configuring my mailserver to use my ISP's SMTP-server as a smarthost. Works fine.
I'm old-fashioned. If I want to share, I copy/paste the URL in the social network of choice.
I'm interested in that Yubikey Neo solution too...
For people whose brain doesn't work well enough to remember dozens of passwords, you could also use an gpg encrypted text file. Works well for me.
What's the use of a predictable cadence for security updates? Security vulnerabilities are not found on a schedule. Personally I want my updates ASAP. You can update when you want (but sooner is better for everyone).
I'm quite happy to hear arguments to the contrary, but my broad-brush perspective is that while Apple's ecosystem is a walled garden, Android's ecosystem is the wild west.
How would you classify a Windows desktop or a Linux desktop?

Why have to get rid of this idea of "apps". It was nice, thanks Apple for making it popular, but now we had enough. Let's define some decent standard Javascript APIs and move to something that will work on all device/OS, like HTML. Apps will keep us in this Apple/Google duopoly forever.
Here, in the Netherlands, all people drink tap water, except when in restaurants. This of course has to do with the fact you can charge 2 euro for a glass of tap water while people will feel ripped off if you charge that for a glass of tap water. There are movements going on to persuade bars, restaurants to also serve tap water for environmental reasons. Bottled water is a huge waste of resources (in countries where the tap water is as good or better as bottled water).
By the way, my tap water, which is pumped out of the ground about 2 km from here, contains 0.12 mg/l fluoride (according to the water company).

A Dutch documentary recently showed Africans are now getting rich by recycling discarded mobile phones or "urban mining". Loads of rare metals in those things.
Just read all the comments above yours and not many people seem to care about the point you just made. Hundreds of innocent people die due to American drones and now that they accidentally hit a white guy/non-Muslim the US president is making apologies. I find this very sad.

I agree. Since the new Google Maps, it has become confusing and slow for me. The OpenStreetMap site is simple and fast and now also offers routing. And it's *really* free.
So we moved from centralized source control (CVS, SVN) to decentralized source control such as Git and then we centralize all of repositories in the world on one server...
