Someone else pointed out that 360K was double sided double density disks, so yours probably was before that. I think that was the 90K single sided single density disks (the Apple ][s were superior during that time, being capable of 140K... :P :P Though, sadly, they never got to double density drives)

Seeing that the specific Seagate model they used have 128MB cache and the WD model had 64MB cache, I'm not sure how more cache makes it slower.

Wow. Just how does your brain work? The point is that Apple's iPhone, using 2 cores at 1.3Ghz has comparable performance to high end Android phones running at 4 to 8 cores at twice the Ghz, and in my mind, that's superior performance.

You do not understand what "end-to-end encryption" means. The end isn't where ever you feel an "end" is. It's the other end that you are communicating with. That's why it's called "end-to-end" and not "end-to-middle" or "end-to-system" or any other variations.

If Apple were to create another version of their phone, but with 4000mAh to 8000mAh batteries (to support the extra GHz and cores without draining the batteries too fast), they can make their phones twice to 4 times as fast, just by upping the Ghz, or the number of cores, or both.

The issue is that Gerrymandered seats are safer, the elected official *is* communicating with voters, but the electorate he must worry most about is his own party in the primaries.

If you have a seat that is safe for one party then you get elected by activists of that party, not voters in general which leads to people getting elected from both parties who would never win on their own merits if they had to "communicate" with a more representative portion of the electorate.

They don't get re-elected by doing a good job, they get it by convincing activist members of their own party that they "represented our values".

They don't get fired by screwing up, but because some faction of their own party, be it unions, Tea party, some religious or ethnic group don't like them or because they sleep with someone that causes a fuss.

So the surprise is not that elected official are less than the best, the surprise is that they know such advanced maths as "some numbers are bigger than others" and that grasp foreign politics well enough to know that the Queen of England isn't a New York bar.
