If China was evil why would Empire of the Sun film their most iconic video there and why would China let them?

You sentence is missing grammar or something and doesn't make sense. What are you trying to say?

What has a film from 1987 that was filmed at Elstree Studios in the United Kingdom, and on location in Shanghai and Spain, got to do with the current situation with China, US and Microsoft?

You're basically saying you can't go off grid or perhaps the other side of the planet. You can't spend a week hiking Kilimanjaro or Patagonia or on a live aboard scuba diving the Great Barrier or visiting in-laws 11 time zones away in Australia. These are things I like to do. My personal time is not ruled by work. If you can do this, your boss doesn't need to contact you when you're closer to home or even staycationing.

Sounds like youâ(TM)re afraid of an abusive boss. If they retaliated against me for something like that, weâ(TM)d be talking a lot of money for constructive dismissal. If you have a client paying a million a month, your boss can afford to have a second person who can cover for you. In fact, they better have a second person because otherwise they are being negligent having truck count one. In this case, who is putting the business at most risk or causing the most damage, you or your boss?

I prefer not to have any work device with me when I'm on holiday. If the there's an emergency, they can fly me back to the UK and compensate with extra time off in the next school holidays. This ain't going to happen! I try to ensure I'm not truck count one. It helps my boss is in Germany these days rather than the US and he has more holiday than me and respects people's personal time.

Cable was mostly a series of local monopolies, and they knew it.

I could almost stomach (at lease understand and accept) the annoyance of all the ads when viewing freely over the air, but I didn't get why people were willing to actually pay for that crap. The cable companies could get away with murder.

Bingo! These militias are nothing unless factions of the US army and other military branches decide to join them. If a whole state with access to the border where they could get supplies from hostile states rebels (e.g. Texas), then it's a different story. At the moment the militias are just deluded cultists.

Probably Trump was surprised at how easily he was able to trigger sedition and the invasion of Congress and didn't have a plan in place to capitalise on it. I bet that's different now.

Face ID annoys the hell out of me. It's slow on my iPhone 15 Pro Max compared with the Touch ID on my regular iPhone 8 it replaced, although neither are as fast or work without an error as frequently as the Touch ID on my 2019 MBP. I have to pick the bloody phone up to use it when it's sitting on my desk, and how many times a day do I use MS Authenticator and I'm already putting my phone back down on my desk without realising it wanted to authenticate again?! And then with payments, why do I want to lift my phone towards my face when I'm actually wanting to push it in the other direction and height towards the payment terminal? Furthermore, it encourages tapping in your pin if it's required when the phone's already raised up for people behind you to see.

Are these American militias being massively supported and aided by China and Russia?

I suspect most of these people will just shit themselves and downplay their involvement or go the way of David Koresh if it actually escalated to a real confrontation with the government, who have a much more legitimate claim of representing The People anyway.
