I got it when I was 32, and I gave it to my infant son. Luckily for me, my case was mild. But it got its revenge when I got Shingles 10 years later.

I had an outbreak of shingles about 17 months ago and I'm still suffering the after effects. Look up "post herpetic neuralgia". There are antiviral drugs for shingles which should be started ideally within 3 - 4 days of the outbreak. There are also two expensive but worthwhile vaccines for shingles which are a good idea, especially if you're over 50 and are self employed, because you will be of work if you get a bad case.

Oh, they mean Samsung is making the other kind of ring, like the ones that help you get electrocuted when you forget to take it off before working on high voltage circuits? Damn. Don't need one of those.

Or the ones that blow up when the paramedics cut it off your finger after you've been rendered unconscious by some accident?

I hate DVDs because of the inability to fast forward through a bunch of crap ads and FBI copyright warnings... and its a PITA to get a DVD player that can play any region and skip the unskippable.

I don't know if it's still the case but LG players and optical drives used to be region free or easily unlocked.

"Violence and threat became more extreme as the tournament progressed, with players' families increasingly referenced and many threatened if players returned to a particular country -- either the nation they represent or where they play football," the report said.

When it gets to threats of violence against players, their families, or officials, I don't have a problem with reporting them to the cops. In the past there have been acts of violence against players and families, especially in South America

Aren't photos mainly to permanentize something that happened?

I do wish there were some way to maintain some distinction between what is a 'photograph' and what is not - be it derived from a photograph, or a drawing, or whatever.

But without some sort of all-encompassing DRM scheme, I don't see how.

According to that link, some of the AI image generators such as MidJourney will be adding similar features (image tagging) in a few months. Of course there's nothing to stop bad actors wiping the EXIF data.

Sue HP in small claims court. They'll lose most of them for failure to appear. The argument is that HP's actions directly lead to irreparable printer damage, and you're asking the court for compensation for your losses (a comparable replacement printer from an HP competitor, and the cost of the now unuseable ink).

The trouble with small claims court is getting the guilty party to pay up after the verdict in your favor.
