"If it's not evil, how have so many evil people successfully used it to hide their ill-gotten gains?"
You are sure there are ill-gotten gains? How do you know? At what point does the EU's mandate become a fishing expedition? Suddenly everyone with a crypto account will have to answer all sorts of questions about where the money came from. Time to move all that crypto currency back to gold and silver it sounds like.
Yes, by all means stifle anyone who doesn't agree with you by calling them a troll instead of responding with facts. It's the slashdot way.
Why?
I'm certain this post will be modded to nothing but if you do read it, I challenge you to look at the mod point spread. Nearly every conservative viewpoint is modded down while liberal views are nearly all at 5 or just below. It's clear that moderation is no longer a viable way to judge the posts on slashdot. It's too bad since it was a good way to weed out the really bad stuff. Now we just muzzle those who we don't agree with.
First, this reminds me of the youtube videos of parents breaking their kid's consoles. OMG, DRM how could they? We couldn't play for an entire day!!!! Let me put this perspective for you. First the Gran Turisomo developers worked to create a patch. Next, they scheduled time to install the patch. Beyond that they had to spend time fixing something that they inadvertently broke. All this costs money. When folks pirate software, including console games, they take the money away that pays programmers for these updates. The fact that the game was unplayable for an entire day is just part of dealing with software. Remember, if nobody had ever pirated any software, DRM would be entirely unnecessary. Unfortunately, this is what we got.
Teacher's unions only care about teachers, not students. They fight for more vacation or sick time or better working conditions. Students are secondary during negotiations. They may tell you it's about the children but you need to look through their subterfuge to see that it's all about teachers.
No, they aren't. Unions work by exploiting ignorant school boards or districts whose attorneys don't understand how yearly "asks" to be included in their contracts begin to subjugate policy. At some point districts lose control and they can no longer afford their teachers because of the contractual demands. Smaller districts are especially vulnerable. Oh and don't try and push back because the union will make your life as a school board member a living hell along with painting a picture of how horrible the district treats its teachers.
In all fairness I doubt many people ask about the swiping mechanism when swiping their card. And on my credit card bill, I don't see "stripe", I see the vendor's name.
In my opinion, it's not the name of the service, the problem with the IMDB channel is it has commercials. Even if I never ordered a package from Amazon and only watched their Prime video service, Prime cost is still very close to the cost of Netflix and there are a ton of movies and TV to watch for "free". Maybe I'm not seeing the big picture but why would I chose to watch commercials when fifteen bucks a month gets me a nearly unlimited selection.
Did China have their fingers crossed behind their back when they made this deal?
It's time for a new city council. They no longer work for the people in Dalles but have sold out to big corporations with tax credits and shady back room deals.
In all fairness, the left wingers are just as guilty of taking information out of context when it suits them. I think honesty has become a casualty of government. Our lawmakers simply can't tell the whole truth anymore.
I'm glad I was not alone in my failure to decipher that.
That's exactly what the reporter did. He told the state there was a problem and agreed to hold off printing his article until they fixed it.
It seems that more and more mathematicians are using a new, high level language named "research student".
