Exactly... if you have 2 people working 60+ hour weeks then you really need to hire another person. Except that business doesnt want to hire more people because they're cheap bastards.

Despite all things pointing to the fact that overtime hours (more than 40 in a week or more than 8 in a day) contribute to reduced productivity. So those hours that people are getting paid 1.5x their pay are actually the hours they're usually least productive... If only the bean counters would realize that.

Also if they did that there might not be a huge unemployment issue.

Do you know how nasty some of those toilet cleaning chemicals are...

There was a story recently of a school where some girls got chemical burns because they sat down on toilet seats that had been cleaned with these chemicals. Now imagine being exposed to those chemicals day after day.

Except the burden of proof in a criminal case is on the state... So they're the ones that should pay for this regardless of the outcome. They're already willing to blow millions on court staff, judges, prosecutors, etc...

I mean think of all the court cases where the governments run people into the ground by dragging their heels and racking up legal expenses for the person who may be innocent.

Yeah ban US tourism there and people of the rest of the world will flock there because they wont have to put up with stuck up american tourists ;) look at Cuba, it has a thriving tourism sector despite not having US tourism based solely on that fact alone because it certainly aint the food that's doing it

Unless he gets extradited to the US which given how NZers and the world responded to how the US went about this including using foreign intelligence agencies to prosecute a civil court matter... I really dont think it's gonna happen.

Best way to avoid prosecution on some matter is to stay out of the reach of those who want you. Particularly if those crimes are minor or non-existant in the eyes of the public. Many people who arent of the MAFIAA persuasion believe he's the victim and that is hard to overcome even with the big media's propeganda machine.

Comment Re:Non-lethal instead! (Score 1) 1388

Tazers are less lethal, they still kill a small number of people hit with them... (despite what Tazer international says).

That said Tazers should occupy a space between physical brute force (like beating the suspect with a stick) and shooting the suspect... Basically if you'd consider using a gun then a tazer option should be open.

Comment Re:What could possibly go wrong... (Score 2) 1388

Yes it is very dumb...

After all if it wont fire people will just use it as a bludgeon to beat someone to death instead and it'll still be declared a gun crime so the gun control nuts can still have statistics on their side.

Also what happens if someone tries to shoot a midget? The gun might think of them as a kid, so a midget on a shooting rampage might do even more damage.
