Re:Tetra-chromats ? Anyone? (Score:2, Informative)
Tetra-chromats are by definition female. You need two x chromosomes to carry the two different genes that code the two slightly different pigments.
It's an axiom that there are no women on the internet.
Ergo, there are no tetra-chromats on Slashdot.

Sure you are. Kinda.
A small minority of women can differentiate more colors (by a factor of 10!) in the visual spectrum than the average human. They have mutant cone cells which give them tetrachromacy, as opposed to the more phenotypical trichromacy.
People with aphakia can see ultraviolet light. Aphakia is the absence of a lens, either congenital or through surgery (e.g. cataract sugery). The lens filters ultraviolet light.
I've read that some people are able to acutely sense polarity, and I'm not referring to Haidinger's brush. I believe it was related to LASIK surgery or something similar. Although I guess that's not really related to color.

Perhaps you're not colorblind but there are degrees of color acuity.

Depending on the monitor & the ambient lighting, I've scored anywhere from 4 - 32
And there are much more difficult tests of color acuity.
