Fun With My Hair

  • Not only is it cool, but you'll get by without anyone in business not caring, simply because you live in Seattle ;-)
    • Well, people do definitely notice, and everyone has said something about it, though nobody has seemed freaked out about it. And I love having a job that it was never a worry - I chatted with my boss's boss a bit about it, he thought it looked great, and he told me that the place I went to get it done is owned by the same woman that owns the tattoo and piercing parlor he goes to get his tattoos done at.

That's just incredibly awesome. No worries about being called into someone's office to discuss my choice
      • Sounds like Austin. Last year around this time, my boss told all of us in our weekly staff meeting that she wanted us to die our hair red and/or green next (this) year for the holiday season. I think it was because one of my friends here had died his blue and she liked it. She does have a rule that we can't wear wife-beaters -- unless they show off cool tatoos.
  • that's a very nice shade of purple. :-) I think it's cool, but then I have a piece of metal shoved through my tragus, so what do I know. ;-)
    • The purple doesn't show up well enough in the picture - it is much more intense than that. It's Special Effects Wildflower - I wanted purple that wouldn't be too dark, as it needed contrast with the black.

And nice piercing. I actually have been considering a piercing in my lip, though the stylist managed to convince me not to do it when she was trying to tell me I should. She proceeded to say she chipped all four teeth near it, but that it was no big deal. Yeah, right. I don't want to chip my teeth, s
      • If I get another piercing, I'm going to get the cartledge on the top of my ear done. I'm not big on the nose, but there are a couple girls I've seen it look good on. I like the navel and I'm fond of the eyebrow, too.
  • That's Psylocke, from the X-Men, in case you're drawing a blank. And yes, I am a True Believer on the side... :)

  • Suits you pretty well. Makes a nice contrast to your darker hair.

"Over here" dyeing your hair various colors is pretty much SOP nowadays -- especially since I'm in a country where blond is rather common, so people try to be different by finding strange colors. ;-)

My wife used to have intense red hair, which suited her nicely, and I know a couple of people who chose neon pink -- and, strange as it might sound, it worked well for them. OTOH another friend tried to dye her hair pink, and it looked...awful.

    • Shit man, me, my other half and some close friends (including some Europeans from all over the place) have a simple guide to telling the nationality of people we see around London from their appearance. The distinguishing feature for German tourists is the colour of their hair...
  • But now everyone will be able to correctly guess who you are in the Great Slashdot Photo Contest III....
  • I love it. Bright colored hair is so much fun. I really need to do this sometime (am sticking with highlights at present).
  • Very kewl hair, my favoite color. I've always wanted to dye my hair purple but job situation is limiting me.
