Check out www.gmailswap.com if you want a gmail invite. I spent only a few mins filling requests and ended up with 3 invites in total.

GMail is getting rather common now. There was a time when people were paying $100 or more on ebay to be in the "cool gmail club". The invites method is ingenious in allowing google to slowly increase , test and expand their infrastructure. I wonder when keeping it invite-only is basically going to become pointless, however.
