Journal IamGarageGuy 2's Journal: Chiming in on the Bush topic 1

It seems like everbody is speaking out about trying to get Bush not elected to a second term. I think it is OK to speak out, but nobody seems to have an alternative. It reminds me of the story of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Is Kerry that much different? We are going to replace one problem with another. Why do people like to attack Bush by saying he is stupid? He is a Rhodes Scholar after all, which I don't believe anybody calling him stupid is. Calling somebody stupid that is obviously superior to yourself only makes you look foolish. To call him stupid only shows that you don't understand what he is trying to accomplish. I would prefer to say that he is very smart and just doesn't have the same objectives that you do. He did make it to the White House after all and very few others can say the same thing. He is making a very good living and providing for his family which is more than I can say for a lot of the people that hassle him. I think he is doing a very good job of reaching his objectives e.g. tightening control, taking away liberties, instilling fear. Do not believe for a second that he is doing what he is out of stupidity lest you fall into the trap that has been set for you. Let's look at the options. Kerry who voted the same way as Bush did for the Iraq war who is now backpedaling in the hope of appearing to be an alternative. Nader who has been a source of misinformation for decades. Unfortunatly the only way to have change is to have the electorate become educated which I cannot realistically hope for. The reality is that this is the way it is and will be for the forseeable future. You cannot blame the government for wanting to become more powerful as that is what government does. The only one to blame is the populus that allowed that to happen. I remember being told by a wise friend (at least in my opinion) that every morning he sees the problem straight in the face when he shaves. I always ask people that complain about politicians if they have ever strung one up from a tree. The way I see it you only have to hang a couple of them to have the rest fall into line. Good or bad that is not going to happen and we will all bitch and moan until a new leader is appointed and in another four years we will start the whole process over again without ever coming to the realization that maybe we should take a step back and take a good look at why the same thing keeps on happening.

No, he's not (but Bill Clinton was). Bush joked about his academic background when he gave a commencement speech at Yale: "And to you 'C' students, you too can be president of the United States."

"He did make it to the White House after all and very few others can say the same thing."

Very few others can say that they're the son of a president and the grandson of a senator. Very few others have angel investors willing to bail out their failed businesses.
