There is nothing better than cold meatloaf on bread (extra mayo) with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Seriously, its just the best comfort food ever.

My wife made the meatloaf, and she's become quite the meatloaf maker. My mother made a killer meatloaf, but it coulda been more. My wife's been experimenting with meatloaf. She's a picky eater, so normally she makes herself a side, and has a Josh side loaded with onions. Now, she found something even she likes... she puts onion soup mix into the loaf, and can put a little bit of onions everywhere. It makes for a KILLER meatloaf when cooked, and even BETTER cold meatloaf sandwiches.

Truely the best stuff for a saturday afternoon.

... I'm meeting another /.er (or two) at a local pub based on a "cattle call" sig I had for a few days. 13 minutes and I'm on the way to enjoy a cold beer and some great food. (the weather here sucks right now, only 9C, spitting rain and gloomy out, so much for serious yard work)

Meatloaf in the linzeal house

1 lb Ground turkey package
1 cup or thereabouts corn flakes (or favorite cereal)
1/2 diced maui onion
3-4 pieces of celery chopped
1 habanero diced
5-6 good squirts Hot Sauce [huyfong.com]

Holy Crap - another Sriracha lover! I tried it first years ago at a Chinese restaurant, and then just had to get my own! It's the perfect mix of flavor and a slow burn - excellent.

Anytime the first ingredient listed is a hot pepper is a good sauce imho! None of the Tabasco and it's vinegar

Hell yeah, but my true love is this stuff. It is not crazy+++ hot just like crazy++ hot if you know you what I mean. It has a nice fruity flavor from the habaneros and finishes real nice even if it comes on pretty strong. I personally do not enjoy hot sauces past this point do to their heat, but everyone differs. Sriracha is like catsup here. I go through a bottle every 2 weeks like clockwork.

Sriracha is my Asian hot sauce of choice, also. My absolute favorite, though, was a Caribbean style sauce from Barbados called Star. They stopped it carrying in the supermarket here, unfortunately, and I haven't found a good substitute yet. My chili has suffered as a consequence.

I have to agree that a meatloaf sandwich is a fantastic way to ruin your appetite. However, I beg to differ on it being the best comfort food ever. I would bestow that particular honor on Breyer's Rocky Road ice cream. Just my opinion, of course... ;-)

Mmm... I can go along with a meatloaf sandwhich - sounds great! However, I think I'd prefer it hot, with gravy, not with mayo. I'll have to try both. Yumyum.

Congratulations, you rotten bastards. You have influenced me to put my pants back on and go back out to the store which I just came from.... I was so nice and peaceful there for awhile, too...
