Journal anthony_dipierro's Journal: "Give rebooting the boot"

An article on newsfactor discusses a new memory technology which the author suggests might mean the end of computer rebooting. Essentially it's only nonvolatile ram though, and while that might cut down on rebooting for those of us who turn on and off our computers, the operating systems themselves would have to change before we could really start cutting down on time-consuming reboots. This is one place where linux and other unix lookalikes have an advantage - they are specifically built to run for long periods of time without rebooting.
