NaveWeiss's Journal: PHP - "expecting T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM"

Hi it's me! I didn't get a lot to write because I've been busy semi-trolling other journal sites.

Anyway.. here's what I wanted to write about.

If anyone uses the object-oriented stuff of PHP, she might get the following lovely error message:

expecting T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM

It baffles many users. WTF is PAAMAYIM_NEKODOTAYIM?
Well, in Hebrew PAAMAYIM means twice, and NEKUDOTAIM means colon (two dots). So PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAIM is ::

Now it all makes more sense doesn't it?

How do you say "overkill" in Ivrit? ;)

Using that many letters (in either charactery) for "::" is a little bit like killing a fly with tilim gariniim. :) Surely they could just say "EXPECTING '::'" or something?
