Was just reading this and realized that a lot of people are pretty angry. I work with a lot of excellent engineers at a large MNC and I'm not seeing this trend or the anger. Sure, a lot of stuff is going offshore, but a lot of the stuff going offshore is boring, trivial, maintenance stuff. I've been in India a week interviewing and I cannot find these people taking our jobs...they aren't there. There is about a 1% hit rate for interviews here (based on our Indian colleague and he's going NUTS trying to find competent applicants. HE'S INDIAN and saying this, for goodness sake. This trend is already beginning to reverse , and it will continue until the offshore locations serious upgrade their capabilities. Quit bitching about the trend and prove you can compete...you'll win, I'll win, and our country will improve...if all you've got is bitching and bitterness, your either in the wrong career, wrong company, or wrong life.
