Journal DoctorScooby's Journal: The Moderation System is Inherently Flawed

What is moderation except a sugar-coated word for censorship? What a person writes is judged on whether it is pleasing to others, not whether it is true or useful. If I justifiably insult Apple in the apple section (say, for the nasty White Spots appearing on a majority of 15" PowerBook LCDs), I am instantly modded down for it (not that I can go past the -1 I automatically post at currently, haha). I am not modded down because I am incorrect in my information, but BECAUSE OTHERS DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT.

That is the essence of censorship; the covering up of unpopular viewpoints. Like government censorship, the information is never totally erased, it is still there in some form or another, but at -1 where it will not be seen.

This is why the organized and corporate-controlled moderation occurring here on Slashdot is a great injustice, not that anybody here has the ability to care; I will explain the presence of subliminal messages in both Windows and MacOS, and possibly give tidbits of proof, in a future journal entry.

Until then, protect your mind.
