I just redid the
alt.personae writing/photo index at my website, adding a couple of essays that I wrote when I was in grad school.
The main page of blog-O-rama is as always but I've added a b & w version for people who don't think that purple-on-purple is the coolest color scheme ever.

Welcome the Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle [osu.edu] to your neighborhood. I'm surprised they haven't yet moved into your home for the winter. Introduced exotics always do such interesting things.
Here in Ohio, they've been around for about a decade or more. In fact, I'm more an interloper than they, as I've only moved here in 1996. Mostly harmless (the bugs, I mean, though that might be said about me as well), though it is suspected that they are out-competing some of the native Ohio species. I hear growers of
