Journal Apreche's Journal: Stuffs!!

Ok, so a lot of stuff is going on. First off, the US Grand Prix is today. This means you don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to catch the Formula 1 race live. So all you people who have never seen an F1 race, or you just aren't into it, today at 1:30 on the Speed Channel. Seriously, it's like no other car racing you've ever seen. Give it a shot, and make sure you don't miss the launch start at the beginning, it's very exciting.

Also, I installed Gentoo Succesfully!! It was a while ago, but I've been mad busy, so I couldn't talk about it. Pretty much I printed out like 5 seperate sets of instructions, and in the end everything works except serial ATA. It really sucks that I don't have serial ATA because that's where all my mp3s be. Oh well, maybe later. I really like gentoo. Everything in it seems to work well and fast. Also the emerge system is excellent. The only thing that sucks is that it takes frickin' forever to compile some things. I wish someone would have told me it takes overnight to get openoffice. The other thing is I don't know how to get newer versions of stuff installed. e.g. the version of python in emerge 2.3. I need to read up on how to make it emerge 2.3. So Hooray!!!!

Speaking of Python, my last item of business. A lot of people in the Mozillazine forums are clamoring under the thunderbird features section. They all want a system tray notifier, equivalent to nsnotify. Since the tbird coders are taking their sweet ass time, I've decided to make one of my own using Python and wxPython. It should be done as soon as I have some spare time. It will definitely rock.

My next journal entry will be about xfree86 and linux gui stuffs. I'm gonna tell you the way it should be.

Real Programs don't use shared text. Otherwise, how can they use functions for scratch space after they are finished calling them?
