The best place for storing long-term foods in a dry, dark and cool your home. Basements are ideal if you have some sort of bunker and configured. Once you have set aside a place in your home to save, take accurate measurements. These measures will help determine how much food you need to buy and how to partition the space for certain things. Be sure to leave enough space in your storage space for easy access.

If necessary, install a simple shelves. The shelves are a good idea for areas that are prone to flooding. Sufficient space must be below the shelves of large containers and bins.
