If a drain cleaning product over-the-counter does not do the trick, then you may have to make some plumbing amateur set your jam. If you look under your sink, you will see what is known as a "u-pipe." This U-shaped piece of pipe fittings will each side which can be easily opened with a pair of pliers or a wrench extension.

Simply remove the u-tube, and to observe the inside of it. In many cases, this is the place where your obstruction. Generally, you can use a wire hanger or a brush to remove the obstruction. Then simply screw the pipe in place, and to be established. Be sure to have on hand a bucket to collect the excess dirt or water, as this can be a complicated process.
