Is it just me or is the Sci-Fi logo the scaryest thing ever? Whenever I see it I an just skip past the story as I am too scared to look at it. Just look at it! Look at its evil eyes! It wants to suck out your brain.

It is Balok's puppet [bbc.co.uk] from The Corbomite Maneuver [ericweisstein.com], one of the early Star Trek aliens which was shown as part of the slide show during many T.O.S. episode closing credits. It is therefore deeply etched in many a trek-watcher's visual cortex, adding to the terror.

At first I thought it was a Talosian [thestpg.com], but it clearly has more makeup on than they do.
