Journal jwbozzy's Journal: Grad student under fire

While chatting today, I came across this link to a story about a grad student whom the government has decided should be silenced because he has mapped out the fiber optic infrastructure of the US. The overall gist I get from this story is that we are relying on security through obscurity to protect our vital data networks. Apparently, no one else but this grad student is capable of collecting public domain information and making a graph out of it. I think I might just want to cry now.
