handsomepete's Journal: You know what's great? Brisco County Jr.

I found a couple Brisco County Jr. episodes floating around the P2P networks over the past couple weeks and started watching them today. You know what? That show was really very good. Good action, excellent scenery/props/costumes (think Firefly with a little more effort put into it), a nice orchestral score, great acting - not to mention f'ing Bruce Campbell - and some hilarious dialogue. Oh yeah, and a plot. Really, this show had it all. Go check it out if you haven't before.

It was one of those earlier Fox shows (along with Get a Life, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Bakersfield P.D., Woops!, Tracy Ullman, Herman's Head and later In Living Color and The X-Files). IMDB has a worthless blurb here [imdb.com]. I thought it lasted more than a year also, but the IMDB "reviewer" seems to think not.

There's something to be said for file trading if it can give a television show that's more or less gone from the face of the earth a longer life.

Isn't Parker Lewis himself the guy on (oops, was on) Stargate SG-1 for a season?

The sad fact is that I remember every single one of those shows. As well as Women in Prison and The Adventures of Beans Baxter.

I actually liked all of those shows at the time. No idea which ones hold up well.
