Today is Wednesday the ninth day of May in 2012 A.D., the day of the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit; the day of the salvation, redemption, providence, and blessing of the almighty Lord God Most High. If not today then what other day is there?

An important goal of language is likened to a popularity contest; a highly evolved situation. A primitive popularity contest features one person competing against another person with a group of people voting. The individuals under consideration are discrete, the event of voting is discrete, the voting method is discrete, the tally of the votes is discrete, the identity of the judges is discrete, and the declaration of the victor is discrete. Factor in several thousand years of debate, issues, considerations, mix-n-match, increase the number of candidates, increase the number of voters, increase the number of judges, increase the frequency of the voting events, increase the frequency of the contests; consider how two discrete popularity contests could be conducted at the same time in different areas located within small walking distance of one another, consider how three contests could be conducted simultaneously with voters drifting between events, consider how two contests could be conducted within the same geograpic area. Consider how a large number of popularity contests could be conducted in only negligably marked and separated areas all located within a common geographic region. Language is the mechanism which allows an enormous array of popularity contests to operate within a common locale while collecting ballots, tallying votes, declaring victors, and acquiring participants for upcoming contests all at the same time on a constantly updating schedule which allows for cancellations, substitutions, and amendments to decisions. Language is itself a popularity contest. In east Asian cultures, in ancient times, the popularity contest was a scheduled courtyard meditational practice involving hundreds or even thousands of people at a time: the judge stood in front of the organized crowd and held up two cards on which were printed lingual symbols. "Say this!" holding up one card,"or say this!" holding up the other card. The monks and acolytes then had entire yearly schedules counting the cards, tallying the votes, tracking and organizing and breaking down the data sets; analyzing the results sequentially, over the course of the day, depending upon the weather, and any number of other factors and considerations and scheduling updates possible within such a system. Modern day western culture includes the format of the Christian mass as a method for observing and reporting the state of the language popularity contest.

Over the course of time some sounds are preserved in key positions; the environmental considerations which surround the consideratino of a "key position" is even more complex than the considerations for the popularity contests which surround those key positions. In the primitive form examples of key positions are the beginning of the event of voting, the end of the event of voting, the beginning of the process of tally, the end of the process of tally, the event of declaration of the victor. The system becomes complexified as the popularity contests begin running concomittantly and in tandem and the exact location and characteristics of the "key position" become ambiguated but, mathematically, not at all lost or made less important.

The lingual popularity contest is a microscale accumulation of "good" and "bad"--the heart of the "say this, or say this" courtyard exercise. The individual's decision of one over the other is designated to be "good" vs. "bad" and the monks and acolytes managing the tally system are carefully tracking what the population perceives to be "good" and "bad" sounds. "Good" sounds are collected and experimented using intergender interactions. "Bad" sounds are collected and tested using warfare and political oppression. The system of musical chairs operates, more or less, for the same purpose and allows for slightly more real time update and modification.

"Politics", over the course of the day by the end of the year, is a "bad" sound--involving oneself in linguistics which originate on "politics" will, unless the individual is supported and protected, lead to finger pointing, blame, and aggression. In the consideration of an animal form, "ass" is similarly "bad"--the source of embarassment, a responsibility which presents an opportunity for the surrounding people to attack when the individual is disrobed and often with their legs constricted at the knees, bad odors, sounds which attract ridicule and scorn, and the accumulation of unsightly excess cellulite if an individual does not practice rather extreme personal dietary maintenance. An "emissary" is sent "out". According to the interface between self and environment (epidermal and dermal layers), the difference between "in" and "out" is "hair" and "sweat" (according to the follicle). Sweat is sent out (out/ud), hair grows from the inside (in). The "shroud of turin" is "something out of tour in", a tour is a period of time spent drying out (in the consideration of a religious pilgrimage as a tour), and the "shroud of turin" becomes "something sweat and dry hair" (of/and, prepositions often interchanged upon translational considerations) and "shro" then nearly defines itself as "ass".

Political is bad or shro. Emissary is out or ud. A scout, based upon lingual analysis of the construct, is "sco ut" or, more or less, the same as "shro ud". "Sco ut" becomes "bad out", "bad out" becomes "political emissary". A scout is a political emissary--humorous transposition of this could be that a scout is a butt hair.

The concept of matching lingual constructs depends not necessarily any single sound, not necessarily any single syllable, not necessaryily any single letter--but the overall running of the system which works as the mechanism by which single popularity contests may be integrated into a constantly running constantly updating system of popularity contests. Observe that mathematical integration is coneptually similar: a running function is provided with the intent to calculate all of the form area between the running function and the established axis (in higher mathematics even the nature of the axis may be defined by increasingly complex functions). The practice of observing and reporting the state of the running system of popularity contests is not new; the formal community collection which allows the population to recalibrate itself approximating the "say this, or say this" method gave rise to the practice of Christian mass long before B.C. turns into A.D.

Salons and studios are the business units which conduct an exercise related to the mass. The mass attempts to profile and practice the current state of the popularity contest of sounds. Salons and studios are a system to determine which sounds and constructs may be waxing to popular ("good") or waning to disdain ("bad"). An entire segment of the population devotes its money merely to creating new names for vaporous business units--a salon or a studio. Through whatever mechanism the level of popularity of that name alone is determined to be rising or falling--business cards distributed, lists given to trail participants, free giveaways; anything which could possible use human interest to generate tangible measurements of popularity. Lingual constructs determined to be waning or bad are privately tracked to use as lingual intimidation tactics. Names and constructs determined to be waxing to good may be provided with actual physical floor or office space. The wealthy segment of the population managing the system pays enormous wages to their sons, daughters, cousins, friends, favorites, etc. to do nothing more than staff the space and give an impression of a functioning business; though, at this point, the name still has no real product. The staffed office space involves itself primarily in a promotional charade: staff the space, invite groups of people in for interviews, give essentially pointless presentations (though the list of "good" vs. "bad" sounds could be experimented on the invitees), and have people "spread the word" and hand out business cards. Answer telephones: telephone calls do not always reference the business name, wrong numbers, odd requests, mistaken identities. The purpose is to tally the state of the feedback based upon nothing more than a business unit with floor space and bodies moving in and out and around. If the feedback begins to request a particular product then perhaps that is the product which the name, the lingual construct, should make. Distribute some product, continue to answer telephone calls, wait and observe if interest waxes or wanes. Repeat the process, make adjustments, continue to monitor feedback and requests from individuals not formally involved with the official staffing of the floor space and, if interest happens to blossom into something profitable, then perhaps that name may be given as a favor to some servant who has merited an increase to be an assistment manager of a business unit.

Successful businesses do not happen. They are planned to happen or planned to fail because the people who run salons and studios have been cooking telephone books for a long time. The internet page ranking system, and the big boom of advertising dollars spent on page ranks, and the business units which failed or flopped because they lost on page rankings--that was all contrived. It was a dance. It was a setup. That entire system, those years around 2005 when advertising and page ranking was big money, when entire segments of the IT sector of the stock market were refactored and projected according to metrics which arose from page ranking and internet advertising agencies--that was all inside works, it was a facade, nothing but a scam. That entire system of Google vs. other internet crawlers and aggregators and search engines--the people running the studios and salons, paying enormous dollars to their own progeny to do more or less nothing, have already been through all of the machinations to cheat everyone else and obfuscate the winnings because they did it with studios and salons since before the telephone lines were installed, and then again when the phone lines were installed, and then again when the phone book became a public publication, and then again when the internet boomed. The studio and salon system is a hack on top of the weekly congregational mass; another fine tuning of the public popularity contest of language.

The covenant of circumcision, for the priestly class, had nothing to do with genitalia mutilation. The covenant of circumcision was related to "now that this hot coal has touched your lips"; a test for the practice of learning to correctly operate the musculature of the respiratory system, sinuses, and facial region during the pronunciation of sounds. A person who endeavors to maximize their performance within the running public popularity contest of linguistics needs to know how to interact with the reporting systems as well as perform in the social situations of daily life--and this requires that the individual is able to perform the sounds properly. The systematic standardization of the formation of "proper" sounds vs. "improper" sounds is assessed through the priestsly covenant of circumcision--see the biblical book of "Acts of the Apostles", chapter fifteen, for a semidramatic situation involving a consideration of the importance of forming sounds according to the proper standards.
