Journal tomhudson's Journal: Do-Not-Call List goes International

Australia, Britain, Canada, the United States, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand and Spain met in Paris to kick-start international coordination and cooperation to help combat the problem of telemarketers using agents in different countries as a way of getting around the restrictions of the various Do-Not-Call lists.

Enforcement agencies face a common challenge in tracking down individuals and companies who violate telemarketing rules, but operate outside national borders,â said CRTC chief Konrad von Finckenstein.
