Journal C0LDFusion's Journal: To the socialists and semi-socialist democrats out there... 2

I love every human being (except most ravers and movie theater managers). But this is my warning to you:

http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=55042&cid=5385133

Check it. I wrote this in response to a fucking neo-Stalin who was trying to anal on my friend, turkey.

This is my official notice. All people who think the rich aren't paying "their fair share" can shove it up their ass. Fuck, if you think that the flat 19% Income tax proposed by many people out there isn't "fair", then nothing will make you happy.

I don't like Income Tax. I think the idea of punishing people for making money is fucking GHEY.

Here's MY proposal:

1) End Income Taxation on all levels.
Income Taxation is a scheme designed to take money away from you for doing well. Eliminating Income Taxes would allow people to succeed on every level.

2) Institute a national 20% Sales Tax on all non-food and non-utility items.
Sales Taxes encourage savings and investment, rather than punishing it. Saving and investing money is an intellegent choice to make, and it benefits the economy. In addition, keeping people exempt from taxes on the basics of life, allows people to cover their living expenses without government intervention (at present, the income tax technically taxes money that goes into people's bill paying. Believing we should tax people's money before they even pay their basic expenses makes the value of a human's life very cheap. Readjusting taxation towards items unnecessary for basic subsistence increases the societal value of a human's life).

3) Make it impossible to increase sales tax rate without a national electoral (as in electoral college) referendum.
This creates a check and balance for the current trend of government to quid pro quo for their best friends. For example, Nancy Pelosi, democratic house minority leader recently gave $1 million to her friend in an appropriations bill. If you're against congressional abuse of power, you should agree that people should have the right and easy availability to see what congressional plans for taxpayer money will do to your immediate bottom line, and as the taxed you should have the right to choose whether you want your money spent that way.

I know it won't happen. It's too radical. And it makes too much damn sense. However, I think people here would agree that it would work.

  • You're 100% right, but Instead of getting rid of all income tax and putting in a high sales tax, wouldn't it be better to just figure out how much money it costs to run the government and divide it totally equally among the people? I don't think the sales tax is the right angle, because it'd be inflation for the sake of inflation... In theory your sales tax idea is 100% fair becuase wealthy people buy more, so would pay more, but I'm not sure what other consequences this would have. One problem is that they'd have to pay employees more to cover the costs of living, so the wealthy are still paying it.
I think dividing it evenly would be fair in some ways, but the people who aren't paying taxes now won't like it.
That's the tactic of the dems... They've pushed the tax burden onto the top 5% so the rest of the people really couldn't care less about a tax cut. If you're paying nothing, how are they going to make you pay less??
Anyway... just an idea. I'd be interested in what you think.
    • One problem is that they'd have to pay employees more to cover the costs of living, so the wealthy are still paying it.

Not necessarily. With no tax withholding, they'd have more money to start out with, in addition, basic expenses such as food, utilities and mortgage/rent would be non-sales-tax items, so their costs of living would be tax-free. The only taxed items are things like 400W car stereo amplifiers, that ATI 9600 I want, or a Yacht.

I think dividing it evenly would be fair in some ways, but the people who aren't paying taxes now won't like it.

I don't like it either. How do you keep people who don't work (Unemployed people) from being required to pay?

If you're paying nothing, how are they going to make you pay less??

Recently, a poster said that via the EIC or even without it, a tax cut on the lower percentages is fine. And that's exactly what mainstream democrats are LOOKING for. The EIC and other measures they've taken aren't true "tax cuts", because the people targeted DON'T PAY TAXES.

Instead, what they are doing is a modified form of socialist wealth re-distribution by using the true nature of integers. If you have someone paying 0% and you cut their taxes by 5%, in a sane world, they'd still pay 0%. But in the democrats world, 0% - 5% = -5%. Which means that they get 5% of their income added on to what they make. So, it's basically a handout.

Democrats, who claim to be the ones standing up for the democratic process and a fair system, are the ones fulfilling Thomas Jefferson's prophecy. Jefferson said that democracy works until the people find that they can vote money from the national treasury into their pockets.

And it's hypocrisy. It's okay if they do it for the lowest performing percentage of the country, but if someone else wants to do the same for the highest performing percentages, it's evil! "Those rich people, they have too much money, as it is! How dare they try to enjoy money they've worked hard for! I can't believe the gall!"

They'll say that people don't get rich off hard work anymore, just by leveraging property...but they neglect how the property was originally acquired.

They'll say that it's wrong to profit off of not working...but what is the current Welfare system?

They'll say a million other things before they'll admit they are wrong. And that is why I refuse to debate them now.

It's like if you want to debate higher math with someone, you have to have at least some measure of reality shared between the two of you. If the other person thinks 2+2=22, and you think 2+2=4...you can't go much further.

Democrats live in a world of limited wealth, which must be stolen from the producers and given to the non-producers. I believe that wealth is earned and created by people.
