Journal neocon's Journal: Quotes of the day 3

Two gems:

``Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keep moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.''
-- Ronald Reagan

and:

``Congress is spending money like a drunken sailor on shore leave.

On second thought, that's not fair...

... to the sailor. At least he's spending his own money.''
-- Ronald Reagan

In other news, this journal entry of Twirlip's is developing some interesting conversation, modulo multigeek's banal attempt to defend the French (hint: quite to the contrary of his claims, the French colonials, especially in North Africa, happily and willingly lined up behind the Vichy government).

  • Hey, I just wanted to post a quick note-- since Slashdot unfortunately doesn't let one send private messages straight to a specific user-- to let you know how much I've enjoyed reading your posts in my journal. You're usually a bit more direct and earthy than I like to be, but I think that's a good thing. And you have thus far been quite the font of both knowledge and wisdom. Keep it up, okay?

    Thanks again.
  • Yea, Regan could have said "spending money like a drunken sailor's old lady back at the house" but it would not have been nearly as funny.

We have a equal opportunity Calculus class -- it's fully integrated.
